[Prologue – The Freighter]

Lightning slashed across the churning sky as the OCS Prometheus Dawn fought to stay afloat. The storm was unlike anything the veteran crew had seen—wind howled like a living beast, and waves battered the hull with monstrous fury. Panic gripped the deck as sailors scrambled, until a lurching impact from beneath the ship nearly capsized them.

A terrified crewmate burst through the hatch to the wheelhouse, soaked and wide-eyed.

“Captain! Something slammed into us—ripped open the hull! We’re flooding fast!”

The captain, jaw tight, turned to the intercom and ordered immediate lifeboat deployment. Despite the chaos, training held. One by one, the crew descended into the dark waters below—until someone cried out:

“LAND!”

Through the torrential rain, barely visible, jagged mountain peaks pierced the mist. According to every known chart, no landmass should exist there. But with a ruined ship and a storm closing in, they had no choice. They rowed toward the unknown.

Two sets of hurried footsteps echoed down the sterile tile hallway—one a firm military stomp, the other the hurried squeak of sneakers. The double doors burst open.

Professor Haldry (Olympus Omega Division’s behavioral genetics expert) led the way, lab coat billowing, curls bouncing wildly.

Her counterpart, Dr. Ignatius "Draconus" Vale, followed close behind, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose as he scanned the room.

“Doctors Haldry and Draconus?” asked a medic.

“That’s us,” Vale nodded, calm and clipped. Haldry grimaced slightly at the formality.

“Professor,” she corrected flatly. “Doctor sounds so—bland.”

“You always need a tangent, don’t you?” Vale sighed.

They were ushered toward the medbay.

“Standard exposure wounds for the most part,” the medic explained, “but some of the bite marks are… off. And the survivors are all saying the same thing.”

“Which is?” Haldry asked.

“…That they were attacked by dinosaurs.”

Silence.

Draconus and Haldry exchanged a long look.

[Scene – Survivor Debrief, Isolation Ward]

The captain of the Prometheus Dawn, Davidson, was pale, but lucid. His left arm was bandaged up to the shoulder, his eyes sharp.

“I know how this sounds. I don’t care. Dinosaurs. They tore through my crew like we were nothing. I don’t hallucinate. I saw teeth. I saw claws. They bled red.”

Haldry scribbled furiously on her clipboard.

“Fascinating…” she muttered.

“You’re already planning a field trip, aren’t you?” Draconus whispered.

“You bet I am.”

They left the isolation chamber with quickened steps, moving into the connected morgue to verify the claims. One drawer slid open—and the body of a crewman lay still, his right side completely gone, shredded in a crescent bite.

“That… is one nasty bite,” Draconus muttered.

“Mmm.” Haldry poked the flesh experimentally. “Doesn’t match any modern predator.”

At that moment, the doors burst open.

Kingsley, Director of Olympus Corporation, stormed in, looking disheveled and out of breath.

“Please tell me this is all a hoax,” he demanded. “These reports—living dinosaurs? Prehistoric predators? Do either of you have any idea what’s going on?”

Both scientists stepped aside and gestured to the corpse.

“Well, Boss-Man,” Haldry smirked. “I could give you the short version…”

“But let’s just say: Site Theta’s about to get very busy,” Draconus added grimly.

“And I need a helicopter to the island,” Haldry concluded.

“Of course you do,” Kingsley groaned.
